Dena Destroyer attack is against international protocols: Administration spokesperson

The administration spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, says a brutal US attack on Dena Destroyer, which resulted in martyrdom of dozens of Iranian sailors, was a clear violation of international protocols.

Mohajerani made the remarks while speaking on state TV on Tuesday, the same day when a commemoration ceremony is set to take place in Tehran for 84 sailors killed in the US attack. A funeral ceremony will also be held the following day in the capital city.

She described the slain sailors as martyrs who innocently lost their lives in an attack that was against all international protocols.

Also in her remarks, the spokesperson referred to other casualties of the US-Israeli war on Iran, which has seen airstrikes on civilian areas, saying that 227 women are among the civilians so far killed in the attacks, while 3,210 others have been injured.

On the attacks on non-military sites, Mohajerani said that over 1,050 power facilities have been damaged and 204 water infrastructures have been targeted.

The spokesperson reiterated that all government bodies across the country have been ordered to do reconstruction operations as quickly as possible and provide necessary and free services to the affected people.

The United States and Israel launched their war of aggression against Iran on February 28, assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and top military commanders, despite indirect nuclear negotiations taking place between Tehran and Washington.

Within the framework of its legitimate response, the Iranian Armed Forces immediately initiated decisive missile and drone strikes against US bases in the region and targets in Israel.
