Araghchi held a telephone conversation with his Azeri counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday.

Highlighting Iran’s policy of good-neighborliness with that country, the top Iranian diplomat stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran wants to expand relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan in all fields.

Referring to today’s explosions in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Araghchi rejects firing of any projectile by Iran, saying that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are investigating this issue.

He in particular referred to the role of the Israeli regime in such attacks in order to divert public opinion and destroy Iran’s good relations with its neighbors, saying that other such examples have been observed in recent days.

The top Iranian diplomat expressed his regret over the injuries of several citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan in this incident and wished them speedy recovery.
