In a statement on Sunday, the Foundation for the Preservation and Publication of Sacred Defense Works and Values announced the loss of several commanders, while expressing condolences for the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Ali Khamenei.
According to the statement, Chairman of the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Pakpour, Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of Iran Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, and Representative of the Leader in the Supreme Defense Council Ali Shamkhani were martyred in a “cowardly attack by the world’s most cruel and corrupt American and Zionist regimes.”
The statement noted that the Iranian nation and its defense apparatuses, following the ideals and legacy of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, as well as Martyr Ayatollah Khamenei, would remain steadfast, while neutralizing enemy plots, and steering the country through these critical circumstances to victory and power.
