Patriot vs. Ground Reality

NOURNEWS – As nuclear negotiations resume and Zionist media intensify narratives about the deployment of THAAD and Patriot systems in the region, a new perceptual war against Iran has taken shape—one aimed at manufacturing a sense of security for Israel and imposing a miscalculation at the regional level.

Claims about the deployment of US missile defense systems in the Middle East, coinciding with nuclear talks and high-level political meetings, serve more of a media and perceptual function than reflecting any on-the-ground reality. The narrative promoted by Zionist outlets about the completion of THAAD and Patriot deployments seeks to project enhanced US deterrence against Iran. Yet this narrative is hollowed out from within by the simultaneous acknowledgment—by Israeli and international expert circles alike—of Iran’s devastating missile and drone capabilities. At its core, this media campaign is intended to provide psychological reassurance to Zionist society and to portray the United States as a savior at a time when Israel is experiencing severe internal erosion.

Artificial Security for a Worn-Out Regime

The Zionist regime has turned to exaggerating defensive systems at a moment when a crisis of legitimacy, military failure in Gaza, and deep social fragmentation have undermined the foundations of its internal security. US military moves have not produced real security; rather, they have intensified fear, reverse migration, and domestic distrust within the occupied territories. From this perspective, highlighting American air defense is an effort to contain Israel’s psychological and social unraveling, not a genuine response to threats. Admissions by Zionist generals of their failure to eliminate Hamas indicate that the regime’s security crisis has taken on a structural character—one that cannot be repaired through propaganda tools.

US Presence: Security-Enhancing or Crisis-Generating

The US record in the region clearly shows that its extensive military presence has not brought security; instead, it has fueled terrorism, occupation, and instability. Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine stand as tangible examples of this destructive pattern. In such a context, believing that American systems can generate security constitutes a strategic miscalculation. As long as Washington continues its unconditional support for the Zionist regime, no sustainable regional security order will emerge. Regional cooperation with this approach not only fails to enhance security but deepens insecurity.

Perceptual Warfare and Trap of Miscalculation

The media behavior of the United States and Israel points to a focus on perceptual warfare aimed at wearing down public opinion and pressuring Iran during negotiations. Promoting the imminence of war and the supposed need to make concessions to avert it is a constant feature of this design; yet experience has shown that retreat only emboldens the adversary. The emphasis on THAAD and Patriot capabilities, or exaggerated claims about new weapons, comes despite the fact that the ineffectiveness of these systems against Iran’s missile and drone capabilities has already been demonstrated. From Iran’s perspective, there is no such thing as a “limited conflict”: any action will be met with a comprehensive and decisive response—a reality acknowledged even by regional countries, which have declared they will not allow their territory to be used against Iran.
