Nournews: Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, advisor to the Supreme Leader and the Leader’s representative on the Defense Council, told Al Mayadeen TV that military readiness does not mean accepting war, nor does it mean pushing the country toward war.

Referring to the positions of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Shamkhani stated that the Leader has emphasized the reality that the United States seeks to swallow Iran, but this is impossible as long as the Islamic Republic exists.

He added that they will never succeed in achieving this objective.

He noted that over past decades they have taken numerous actions, yet have failed to reach their goals.

The former Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said that before spending their financial resources and threatening regional security, they should refrain from such moves.

Shamkhani also, referring to the policies of the U.S. president, said that since coming to office and withdrawing from the nuclear agreement, Donald Trump sought to design a scenario against Iran, but during his first term he failed to achieve his objectives.

The Supreme Leader’s political advisor added that there is no reason to transfer stored materials outside Iran, and that returning to 20 percent enrichment is possible; therefore, there is no need to go through complex procedures.

He noted that the 60 percent enrichment level can be reduced to 20 percent, but they must pay the price in return.

Shamkhani said that any attack on Iran, no matter how small, would turn into a very major crisis—far greater than others imagine.
