Speaking to IRNA on Saturday, Mohajerani addressed the recent adoption of a rushed, anti-Iranian resolution at the UN Human Rights Council’s emergency session, adding, “Iran will pursue legal and diplomatic avenues in response to this resolution and defend its rights within the framework of international law.”

She emphasized, “Safeguarding national interests, preserving the country’s security, and respecting the people’s rights are three simultaneous and inseparable principles of the administration’s policies, and the Islamic Republic of Iran will not permit its affairs to be used as tools for political pressure or foreign interference.”

The spokesperson also added, “Iran is always ready to engage in dialogue based on mutual respect; however, we expect international institutions to fulfill their professional and impartial roles by avoiding double standards.”
