Trump’s Peace Council Showcase in Davos

A ridiculous and meaningless event

NOURNEWS – The presentation of the Trump “Peace Council” charter in Davos, with the participation of a limited number of countries, is not only a sign of the failure of Washington’s consensus-building but also a symbol of the decline of American global influence. What Trump calls a “new order” has collapsed in Davos, even before it could be realized.

The Davos summit and the signing ceremony of the so-called “Trump Peace Council” charter once again revealed the real vacuum in American soft power. The presence of fewer than twenty countries – mostly from Western Asia and South America – demonstrated that the claim of a global consensus around a new American order is nothing more than an illusion. The complete absence of Europe sends a clear message: even traditional American allies are no longer willing to join Washington’s unilateral political projects. This absence is, in fact, a sign of the world’s gradual shift away from American centrality and the rise of multipolar approaches in international interactions.

Failure in Consensus-Building and Lack of Trust

The claim of sixty countries participating in the Peace Council was a media effort to cover up the reality of global distrust. Trump’s demeaning behaviors at previous meetings, such as his encounters with European leaders at the White House and Sharm el-Sheikh, caused many countries to avoid participating in such scenes. The arrogant and condescending approach of American politicians, which is in conflict with diplomacy based on mutual respect, is now costing Washington dearly. America’s isolation is rooted not only in organizational structures but also in global public opinion.

Parallel Institution-Building and Legitimacy Deadlock

The hidden goal of the Trump Peace Council is to weaken independent international institutions like the United Nations and the Security Council. Washington’s withdrawal from the World Health Organization, the sanctions against the Hague Court, and the overt support for the crimes of the Zionist regime against the UNRWA are links in a chain that complete America’s discrediting in the multilateral system. The limited participation of countries in Davos is also a sign of the failure of the parallel institution-building scheme and the inability to gain international legitimacy. No country is willing to participate in a plan whose main goal is to consolidate unilateral hegemony and disregard the collective will.

Peacebuilding or Continuation of Crisis-Creating Policies?

The invitation of Netanyahu and Israeli officials to join the Peace Council came at a time when these very individuals have been identified by the Hague Court as war criminals. The contradiction between the claim of peacemaking and the presence of perpetrators of massacres reveals the true nature of this council. Kushner’s statements about disarming Hamas and imposing new sanctions on resistance forces indicate a new phase of American crisis-creating policies. The claim of “peace for Gaza” is merely a cover for advancing the occupation plan and the interests of Tel Aviv.

Meanwhile, Europe cannot escape responsibility for its complicity in these crimes. Although some European governments refrained from participating in the Davos meeting, their long silence in the face of the genocide in Gaza and their support for the Zionist regime are a sign of the continuation of collusion. Europe’s inaction is not out of a desire for peace but stems from conflicting interests with Trump’s dominance over the American order.
