Al-Jazeera cited the US Treasury as saying in a statement on Thursday it had added dozens of individuals and entities in Iran to its list of sanctions.

The 12 entities sanctioned by Washington are located in Iran, UAE, Singapore, and the UK. 

As many as 11 Iranian citizens and a prison have been blacklisted by the US.

The US sanctions have so far failed to trun the people against their government as normalcy has been restored to the country following 2 weeks of foreign-instigated riots.
