Speaking at a press briefing on Monday morning, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei strongly condemned the recent terrorist explosion at the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque in Syria, calling the incident an act of terrorism.

Baghaei said the events unfolding in Syria are highly concerning, noting that the treatment and suppression of the Syrian population have caused deep sorrow and concern.

He expressed hope that the Syrian people would be able to live in security and peace, stressing that such actions have not gone unnoticed by the international community.

The spokesperson further emphasized that Syria’s transitional government bears responsibility for taking the necessary measures to prevent attacks against Syrian society and to ensure the safety of the population.
