Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a telephone conversation, during which they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.
During the call, the two ministers expressed satisfaction with the growing relations between Iran and the United Arab Emirates and emphasized the importance of following up on issues of mutual interest.
Referring to recent developments in southern Yemen, Iran’s foreign minister called on all regional countries to make efforts to preserve Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity and to help realize the legitimate demands of the Yemeni people. He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers dialogue among Yemenis themselves, centered on national unity and territorial integrity, as the only solution to the Yemeni crisis.
For his part, the UAE foreign minister underscored the necessity of maintaining peace and stability in Yemen and the wider region, outlining the measures taken by the United Arab Emirates to reduce tensions in Yemen.
Both sides emphasized the importance of regional countries playing an active role in strengthening stability in Yemen and safeguarding peace in the region.
