Speaking in a meeting with Ara Shaverdian, the Representative of Armenians of Tehran and northern Iran in the Parliament, Behmard emphasized the national unity and solidarity of the divine religions in Iran.

He urged all Muslims and Christians living in Iran to stand against enemy threats and aggression and not allow foreigners to violate the sanctity of Iran and the Iranian nation.

Meanwhile, Shavardian congratulated the birth of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and the New Year, saying, “On behalf of the Armenians of Iran, I declare that we have always been supporters of the Iranian nation and lovers of Iran.”

Among religious minorities, Armenian Christians presented the highest number of martyrs during the Iran-Iraq war, indicating the depth of the bond of the Armenian community with Iran.
