In a message to the fifth international congress on Arbaeen in Mashhad, Speaker Ghalibaf stated that this pilgrimage can present a dignified and ethical image of Iran on the global stage, emphasizing the need for intelligent utilization of cultural, artistic, educational, and media capacities to promote the religious event effectively.
The Arbaeen pilgrimage is a major Shia observance in which millions travel to Karbala, Iraq, honoring the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Ghalibaf described Arbaeen as a magnificent representation of the third Shia Imam’s culture and a symbol of the soft power of the Islamic Ummah.
He noted that the human gathering of Arbaeen conveys messages of freedom, justice, unity, and human dignity to the world.
The speaker also pointed out the grassroots nature of this epic event, reflecting the deep faith and cultural capital of Muslim nations, especially the Iranian people.
Ghalibaf characterized Arbaeen as a great university for cultivating responsible believers and emphasized its potential for identity development among the youth and the active involvement of cultural elites.
He expressed gratitude to all those serving in the cultural and educational committee of the Arbaeen headquarters and hoped that the transformative message of Ashura and Arbaeen would be promoted more widely by explaining them properly for today’s generation.
