Iran, Turkey vow to deepen mutual ties in high-level talks

Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni says there are no limitations to expanding bilateral relations and mutual visits can significantly contribute to enhancing ties.

Momeni made the remarks in a meeting with Munir Karaloglu, Turkey’s Deputy Minister of Interior, who is in Tehran to attend the fourth Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Interior Ministers Meeting.

During the meeting, which took place on Wednesday, Momeni said that the expansion of relations with its neighboring countries is the definitive policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He pointed to the historical and brotherly relations between Iran and Turkey as two powerful nations in the region.

He expressed appreciation for Turkey’s constructive stance in condemning the attacks by the Israeli regime on Iranian soil in mid-June and for its support of the Iranian nation and government.

Momeni also thanked the Turkish nation for its positive and supportive positions regarding the people of Gaza.

He reiterated that Ankara holds a special place for Tehran, and there are no restrictions on deepening the bilateral relationship, with mutual visits playing a key role in this expansion.

For his part, Karaloglu emphasized that relations with Iran are of particular importance to Turkey.

He said that the region is witnessing the greatest tragedy of the century, referring to the thousands of innocent lives lost in Gaza, Iran, Lebanon, and Qatar due to the Israeli regime's brutal attacks.

Karaloglu further stressed the necessity of unity and solidarity between the two countries in confronting the Tel Aviv regime.
