The Iranian women fell short in the final against Uzbekistan, losing 7-17, to secure silver.
They had an impressive run to the final, defeating Lebanon, Jordan, South Korea, and Uzbekistan in earlier rounds before facing the Uzbeks again in the championship match.
The newly secured silver medal builds on the Iranian women’s groundbreaking performance two years ago, when they earned Asia’s bronze for the first time.
Meanwhile, in the men’s division, Iran’s national team finished sixth overall after defeating Qatar in their final match.
The 2025 Asian Rugby Championship was held on October 25-26 at the Royal Oman Police Stadium in Al Wattayah.
