In a letter to President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf forwarded for implementation the "Law on the Accession of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Terrorist Financing Convention (CFT)" in accordance with Article 123 of the Constitution.
The Expediency Council (EC) has previously approved Iran's accession to the CFT on some conditions.
Mohsen Dehnavi, spokesman for the Expediency Council, explained Iran's conditions for joining the CFT Convention, saying that Iran would comply with the provisions of this convention with reservations incorporated in its Constitution and domestic laws.
