On the third day of his visit to St. Petersburg, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, the commander of Iran’s Navy held talks with the commander of the Azerbaijani Navy.
Following the meeting, Azerbaijani commander described Iran and Azerbaijan as “two friendly, brotherly and neighboring countries,” adding that “the two nations maintain close cooperation in all areas, and there is strong coordination between them on issue related to the Caspian Sea.”
Admiral Irani also met with his Kazakh counterpart to discuss ways to enhance the quality of bilateral naval cooperation.
After their meeting, Kanat Niyazbekov, Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said, “We held very constructive talks and reached significant agreements on the roadmap for future cooperation.”
