Pezeshkian emphasizes Iranian ambassadors' role in strengthening international cooperation

President Massoud Pezeshkian has highlighted the crucial role of Iranian ambassadors stationed in various countries as a valuable opportunity to forge new pathways for cooperation.

During a farewell ceremony on Tuesday for the newly appointed ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, Bangladesh, North Korea, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Mali, President Pezeshkian remarked that their diplomatic missions could catalyze joint projects across diverse sectors, particularly in exports, imports, and the exchange of economic, scientific, and technological capacities.

In his address, the president extended his best wishes to the diplomats for their upcoming assignments and emphasized the urgent need for intensified efforts to deepen and expand Iran's relations with their host nations, especially given the current sensitive regional and international landscape.

Pezeshkian reiterated the enduring principles of Iran's foreign policy, which prioritize constructive and effective engagement with the global community.

He urged the new ambassadors to clearly articulate and promote the country’s fundamental and strategic policies while also playing a pivotal role in exposing the coercive and unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States, which are unjust and illegal.

He expressed confidence that the ambassadors would successfully navigate these sanctions during their tenures and leverage the capacities of their host countries to foster enhanced cooperation.

He stressed the importance of identifying and overcoming communication and banking obstacles to facilitate the expansion of bilateral relations.

Furthermore, Pezeshkian underscored the ambassadors' critical role in supporting domestic production and promoting Iranian exports. He encouraged them to actively market Iranian products in their host countries, address financial barriers, and facilitate the use of national currencies in economic transactions.

During the ceremony, the ambassadors presented their goals, plans, and priorities for enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation with their respective host countries.

The ambassadors, including Mohammad Fathali (India), Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi (Bangladesh), Abbas Talabifar (North Korea), Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja (Nigeria), Mohammad Javad Hemmatpanah (Tanzania), and Mahmoud Khani Jooyabad (Mali), expressed their commitment to harnessing extensive opportunities for cooperation across economic, cultural, scientific, and political domains.

They also pledged to take effective and actionable steps to elevate the status of Iran and foster friendly relations with the countries to which they are assigned.
