The Senior Advisor to the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration, in a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Interior and the Head of the Iranian Social Affairs Organization in Geneva, appreciated the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in hosting and providing services to Afghan refugees.
In this meeting, which was held on Monday on the sidelines of the 76th annual session of the Executive Committee of the High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva, Kim Elling, Senior Advisor to the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), while appreciating Iran's efforts in hosting Afghan nationals, pointed to the reduction in the amount of aid from donor countries as the main challenge for the United Nations in advancing projects.
Mohammad Bathaei, Deputy Minister of Interior and Head of the Iranian Social Affairs Organization, while reviewing the latest status of the process of interactions with this organization regarding the organization of foreign nationals residing in Iran, said, "Despite the cruel unilateral sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided outstanding services to Afghan refugees over the past few decades."
