12-day imposed war bears testimony to enemy lies: Army cmdr.

Iranian Army commander says that while the enemy seeks to blame the Islamic Republic of Iran for its eight years of Iraqi-imposed war and the oppressive sanctions, the recent 12-day imposed war showed the truth.

Speaking during a ceremony in Tehran on Monday,  Commander of the Iranian Army Major General Amir Hatami said that "The enemy is trying to display that the problems, the oppressive sanctions, and even the 8-year imposed war are the result of the existence of the Islamic Republic system, but the recent 12-day imposed war is enough to prove how their claims are a lie."

"We were attacked in this 12-day war while we were engaged in negotiations," explained the Iranian Army commander.

"In the 8-year imposed war, the hegemony-seeking regimes, with the aim of harming the Islamic Establishment, targeted this country with its invasion and oppressive sanctions, and with the all-out support of the East and the West for the notorious Saddam regime. Lots of crimes have been committed against the Iranian nation. The First and Second World Wars are examples for that. At that time, despite attempts to keep Iran away from war, our country was involved in war and was subjected to oppression and aggression due to its strategic stance. A look at history would prove how the enemies lied all these years," General Hatami continued.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Major General Hatami emphasized the need for the army to learn good lessons from the experience of the 12-day imposed war.
