The foreign ministers of Jordan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Turkey issued a joint statement, emphasizing that they welcome Hamas' steps towards the Trump plan.
"We also welcome Trump's call for an end to Israeli attacks on Gaza and start of process of implementing the prisoner exchange agreement,” the statement stated.
These developments represent a real opportunity for an inclusive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza.
“We welcome Hamas' readiness to transfer the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian committee.”
“We emphasize the need to begin negotiations to reach an agreement on the mechanism for implementing the Trump plan. We also reiterate our commitment to supporting efforts to implement the plan to immediately end the war in Gaza and to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip without preconditions,” the statement continued.
The foreign ministers stressed that they oppose the forced displacement of the Palestinian people and support the release of prisoners and the return of the Palestinian Authority (PA) to Gaza.
“We support the unification of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, achieving a mechanism to ensure security for all, and a complete Israeli withdrawal, along with the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and the realization of peace based on a two-state solution,” the statement added.
