Speaking at a business meeting between representatives from Kazakhstan and Iran’s Lorestan on Saturday, Onalbayev said that over 650 companies are active in Kazakhstan’s agriculture and food industries, presenting significant opportunities for Iranian businesses to engage in trade and joint investments.
Onalbayev praised the positive political relations between the two countries, noting that the historical and cultural bonds can facilitate bilateral economic and cultural cooperation.
He emphasized Kazakhstan's extensive agricultural capabilities and advancements in technology, particularly the use of artificial intelligence in managing agricultural lands and developing value-added industries.
"Our goal is not just to sell raw products; we aim to enhance value through processing industries," he stated.
The ambassador also discussed the export of wheat and barley from Kazakhstan to Iran and other countries, advocating for the establishment of reputable brands and streamlined customs processes to increase exports and attract foreign investors.
He recognized the industrial potential of Lorestan, including stone production and startup development, as a strong foundation for joint investments.
After the meeting, Lorestan’s Department of Chamber of Commerce and the Iran-Kazakhstan Joint Chamber signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at fostering economic and trade relations.
The agreement will facilitate cooperation in commerce, investment, and the exchange of experiences between business professionals from both countries, marking a significant step toward strengthening Iran-Kazakhstan trade relations.
