Iran rejects Ukraine’s repeated accusations

An aide to Iran’s foreign minister has rejected the repeated accusations made by Ukrainian President of Volodymyr Zelenskyy against Iran.

The accusations made by the president of Ukraine against Iran are repetitive and baseless, and they will not change the existing realities or the dire situation in Ukraine, said Manouchehr Moradi, an aide to the foreign minister and the director general for Eurasia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday.

Answering a question from IRNA about Zelenskyy’s remarks about Iran at the UN General Assembly meeting on Wednesday, Moradi said, “Since the beginning of the Ukraine war, the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently maintained a principled and stable position, emphasizing the need to end the war and resort to diplomacy to resolve disputes.”

Calling the Ukrainian president’s recent remarks “unfounded”, he noted, “Those who have dragged the great nation of Ukraine into the quagmire of a destructive war, through poor judgment and by following the geopolitical and war-driven ambitions of the United States, should act responsibly and focus on ending the war and bloodshed in their country, instead of accusing others.”
