Pointing to Iraq’s war of aggression against Iran in the 1980s and the US-Israeli aggression in June, he said that the enemy’s goal in both wars was “to defeat the [Islamic] Revolution and strike at the country’s territorial integrity.”
The Iranian commander said Israel is incapable of fighting without NATO and US support, adding that during the 12-day war, Iran inflicted “significant blows” on the regime that were censored from the world, ultimately leaving it “crushed,” in the words of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
On June 13, Israel launched an unprovoked aggression against Iran, initiating a 12-day war that resulted in at least 1,064 Iranian casualties, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
The United States further escalated the war by unlawfully bombing three peaceful Iranian nuclear facilities.
Through successful retaliatory operations, Iran effectively halted the terrorist assault by June 24.
Admiral Sayyari added that that in both wars, “the enemy came to the field with its proxy forces, once using Saddam and once using the Zionist regime.”
According to the commander, in both wars, they had provided the enemy with “all the necessary facilities; at that time, the East and the West were behind Saddam, and today, NATO and the global arrogance are on [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s side.”
“These similarities show that even today, global arrogance stands before us. It is our pride that if we fight, we fight against arrogance, not against small enemies,” he underlined.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Admiral Sayyari stated that after the end of Iraq’s war on Iran, the enemy resorted to “severe sanctions, soft war, cognitive warfare, cultural ambushes, and cultural invasion.”
Their goal was also to “weaken the nation and the armed forces,” he said, adding “but our nation stood firm against the arrogance and remained victorious, just as they stood firm and were victorious during the Sacred Defense era.”
