The broad, spontaneous grassroots movement in defense of the people of Gaza has confronted the Israeli regime and its Western backers with an unprecedented phenomenon. Unlike past decades, when the issue of Palestine remained confined to the Middle East, today the voice of support for Gaza echoes from Africa to Europe, and from Latin America to East Asia. More importantly, these movements have emerged entirely from the people — not initiated by governments or guided by official institutions as in the past. This reality reflects a political transformation in the global conscience — a world no longer willing to choose silence over truth in the face of genocide.
Collapse of West’s Media Monopoly
The Israeli regime has long relied on Western media to project a distorted image of Palestine and the resistance. But during the recent war on Gaza, this strategy has suffered a severe defeat. Incomplete coverage, biased narratives, and portrayals of Israelis as victims no longer convince global audiences. The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, citing regime diplomats, admitted that Israel’s media situation has never been this dire. Widespread protests against outlets like the BBC stand as proof of a major shift in global trust toward Western news institutions.
Exposing the Myth of Western and UN “Saviorism”
One of the most significant aspects of recent developments has been the collapse of the deceptive narrative of Western and international institutions as saviors. The long-standing pretense of military intervention in the name of human rights has lost its effectiveness. The world has witnessed firsthand the West’s unconditional support for genocide in Gaza. Movements such as BDS, mass protests across the US and Europe, and even artistic and sports campaigns against the Israeli regime all expose the bankruptcy of institutions that once posed as protectors but have, in practice, become accomplices in crime. This awakening has accelerated the formation of a new global order rooted in resistance-based multilateralism.
From Hunger Wars to Perception Wars: A Victory from Gaza to Tehran
Unable to achieve military or diplomatic success, the Israeli regime has also suffered a strategic defeat in the domain of perception. Western media have failed to tarnish the image of the resistance. On the contrary, the steadfastness of Gaza’s people, the proactive diplomacy of the resistance, and global popular solidarity have all reinforced the international legitimacy of the resistance. From mass protests against Israeli attacks on Gaza to support for Iran’s defensive response in the recent 12-day war, all signs point to a new reality: negotiations are no longer the defining factor in international relations — resistance is. Today, resistance is not only shaping policies but also influencing global public opinion — a phenomenon the West is now forced to reckon with.
