The senior official, speaking at the memorial event, outlined the Foreign Ministry’s position on nuclear negotiations in an interview with Iran’s state television (IRIB).
He stated: “No plan has been set for negotiations yet. However, in any arena — including the negotiating table — our goal is to defend the legacy and the blood of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for a cause.”
Earlier, Araghchi stated, “We will not back down from the Iranian people’s right to enrichment.”
Enrichment on Iranian soil remains a red line for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Iran has engaged in indirect talks with the United States and direct negotiations with the three European countries. While the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported no evidence suggesting that Iran is close to building a nuclear bomb, Israel launched an attack on June 23, using the pretext that Iran was nearing nuclear weapons capability.
At the time of the Israeli attack, Iran was in the middle of negotiations with the U.S. Israeli forces struck residential areas, killing over 1,000 civilians, scientists, and senior military commanders who were resting when they were targeted.
