Inaction against the Israeli regime pushes the world toward the ‘law of the jungle’: Envoy

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Slovenia, Marzieh Afkham, has described the Israeli regime’s aggression against Tehran as a clear violation of international law and the U.N. Charter, emphasized that any signs of weakness or inaction against this regime would push the world toward a “law of the jungle” in international relations.

Afkham met with several members of the Slovenian Parliament on Thursday to discuss bilateral parliamentary relations and recent developments regarding the military aggression by the Israeli regime and the U.S. against Iran.

She said that these attacks constitute a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, stressing the urgent need for decisive action by the U.N. and the Security Council to address the military aggression against Iran.

The Ambassador warned that any sign of weakness or inaction would drive the world toward a “law of the jungle” concerning international relations.

Referring to Iran’s legitimate rights under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (N.P.T.) and its history of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (I.A.E.A.), she criticized the recent unprofessional and politicized actions of I.A.E.A. Director General Rafael Grossi, adding that he encouraged military aggression against Iran, including its nuclear facilities.

Meanwhile, Slovenian parliamentarians underscored the importance of full compliance with international law and the U.N. Charter.

They expressed concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, warning about the potential consequences of escalating tensions in the Middle East.
