Nournews: He said that approving a resolution against Iran will face Iran’s reciprocal actions. Araghchi spoke with the foreign ministers of Ghana (the chair of the board), Egypt, and Thailand, asking them to oppose the resolution proposed by three European countries.
He also asked them to prevent the Board of Governors from being used for political purposes.
Araghchi explained Iran’s constructive approach toward the IAEA and mentioned the agreements made during the recent visit of the IAEA Director-General to Tehran. He warned that pressure will not lead to good results and will not stop Iran’s decision to cooperate positively with the IAEA.
In an interview with Al-Mayadeen, Araghchi stated that Iran has a real will to cooperate with the IAEA, but Europe’s actions are against this direction. He said the purpose of inviting the IAEA Director-General was to start a new chapter of cooperation between Iran and the IAEA. Araghchi added that Iran tried to find solutions to remaining issues, and the Director-General was optimistic about this approach.
He warned that Iran will give an appropriate response to Europe’s "non-technical" steps.
