“Both sides called for an immediate cessation of hostilities against Gaza and Lebanon and for humanitarian aid to be delivered to the displaced as quickly as possible,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei said in a post on X.
“The two ministers also reviewed the current status of bilateral relations and emphasized their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in various political, security, and economic areas.”
Foreign Minister Araghchi arrived in the Saudi capital on Wednesday for talks on way to end Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza and its psychopathic bombardment of Lebanon.
The visit came shortly after Iran’s missile strike on the Israeli-occupied territory which was in retaliation for Israel’s cowardly assassination of Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas in Tehran, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah and Iranian military advisor General Abbas Nilforoushan in Beirut.
In Beirut on Friday, Araghchi said Tehran supports efforts for a "simultaneous" ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza.
Israel has massacred over 42,000 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023.
In recent weeks the regime has also been bombarding Lebanon. At least 2,000 people have been killed.
The regime says it wants an end to Hezbollah’s Gaza solidarity operations, which have targeted the northern occupied territories for a year. But Hezbollah has vowed it won’t stop its attacks unless the genocide in Gaza stops.
