Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Amir Saeed Iravani stressed that the only practical way to restore peace and security to the region is for the UN Security Council to force the rogue Israeli regime to immediately stop the war and genocide in Gaza and establish an immediate and permanent ceasefire and end its destabilizing activities in the region.

"The humanitarian situation in Syria is still dire. Syrian people are suffering from deep economic challenges. According to the latest UN report, 16.7 million people, which is nearly 70% of the Syrian population, are in urgent need of humanitarian aid. The current level of funding allocated to address the humanitarian crisis in Syria is alarming," Iravani said addressing the United Nations Security Council meeting titled: 'The situation in the Middle East: (Syria)'.
