NOURNEWS- According to published reports from Moscow, Mehdi Islampanah the vice president and head of INSO, who arrived in Moscow on Sunday, announced the signing of the comprehensive document on cooperation between Iran and Russia in the field of standards.
While pointing out that the standard is the common language of the countries in the field of export and import of goods, Mr. Islampanah said: in this trip, which was carried out at the official invitation of the Russian counterpart, the cooperation document between the two countries will be signed.
He added: With the signing of cooperation documents between Iran and Russia, a common standard will be defined for all exported goods from Iran as well as imported goods, such as non-industrial goods and halal products from Russia.
The head of the National Standards Organization considered the meeting with Ravil Ainuddin, the chairman of the Russian Muslim Council, as one of the most important meetings in this trip and said: "In the negotiations with the chairman of the Russian Muslim Council, the issue of halal trade and export and import products from Iran and Russia will be discussed."
In addition to meeting and negotiating with the head of the Russian Standards Organization and the chairman of the Russian Muslim Council, Mr. Islampanah will visit some Russian standard assessment institutes in Moscow.
The heads of the national standards organizations of Iran and Russia previously met and consulted on the sidelines of the ISO General Assembly in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, in September of last year.
Mr. Islampanah and his Russian counterpart had agreed in their past meeting in Abu Dhabi to finalize the list of priority goods and merchandises that are exchanged with a high volume between the two countries before finalizing the new cooperation document.
A group of experts from the two countries have previously examined the existing capacities in the fields of standardization, conformity assessment and metrology.
With the signing of the document of joint cooperation between the National Standard Organization of Iran and the National Standard Organization of Russia, the provisions of the previous memorandums regarding the emerging and technological fields, the exchange and harmonization of standards between the two countries in order to facilitate the export and import of goods and services between the two countries, will become operational.
