NOURNEWS- Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of the supreme leader and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, who traveled to South Africa to participate in the meeting of national security secretaries and advisors of member countries of BRICS, met with South Africa's Minister of the Presidency, Khumbudzo Wantshawni, and discussed and exchanged opinions with her about the ways to further expansions of the relations between the two countries.
At this meeting, Dr. Ahmadian conveyed the warm and sincere greetings of our country's president to Mr. Ramaphosa, the president of South Africa, and reminded the special respect of the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Mr. Mandela as a symbol of the fight against racial discrimination.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, while pointing out that Iran and South Africa share strategies and goals regarding the developments in West Asia, emphasized on the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in all areas, especially the fight against terrorism and extremism.
Dr. Ahmadian stated that the US has maintained the apartheid system by adopting a policy of unilateralism and imposing cruel sanctions with its happy trigger sanction policy, he considered the interaction and cooperation of independent countries to be inevitable in order to deal with this dangerous process that violates the most obvious human rights.
Ahmadian considered the holding of the 15th session of the Iran-South Africa joint commission in the near future as a positive step for the development of relations between the two countries and expressed hope that with the visit of the South African president to Iran, the level of bilateral relations will expand in various fields, especially field of economy.
At this meeting, Mrs. Khumbudzo Wantshawni, Minister of the Presidency of South Africa, while expressing her pleasure because of Dr. Ahmadian's visit to South Africa and accepting the country's invitation to participate in the meeting of national security secretaries and advisors of member states of BRICS and its friends, emphasized on cooperation in all fields, especially the field of energy.
She expressed her hope to visit Iran in response to the invitation of the Iranian side at the head of a delegation consisting of officials of relevant institutions.
Mrs. Khumbudzo Wantshawni also stated; South Africa supports Iran's request to join BRICS.
