Any agreement in Vienna should include lifting of sanctions, provision of valid guarantee

President Raisipointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran has offered constructive proposals in the course of negotiations, and has examined the other sides' proposals based on the extent of their compliance with the interests of the Iranians

NOURNEWS - Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi stressed that any agreement in Vienna should include the lifting of sanctions, the provision of a valid guarantee, and the cessation of political issues and claims.

Speaking in a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday, President Raisi said that the Iranian delegation is seriously conducting the Vienna talks.

He pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran has offered constructive proposals in the course of negotiations, and has examined the other sides' proposals based on the extent of their compliance with the interests of the Iranians.

Noting that the Iranian delegation has repeatedly stated that it welcomes initiatives that guarantee and protect the rights of the Iranians, President Raisi added that political pressures or claims have been made to maintain pressure on the Iranians, which undermine the prospect of reaching an agreement.

The Iranian president emphasized that any agreement in Vienna should include the lifting of sanctions, the provision of a valid guarantee, and the cessation of political issues and claims.

Referring to the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran's interaction with the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the IAEA's numerous reports confirming the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities prove that some countries' claims are false, President Raisi stressed that in order to to prove its goodwill, the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly emphasized professional cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, and in this regard, they need to be careful about the obstructive actions of the enemies.

Pointing to Iran's active role in the fight against terrorism alongside Iraq and Syria, the Iranian president noted that if it were not for Iran, especially Martyr Soleimani's effective confrontation with terrorism, Daesh would have deployed its forces in Europe today.

French President Emmanuel Macron, for his part, said that good progress has been made in the Vienna talks and they hope that the talks would lead to conclusions as soon as possible.

The presidents of Iran and France also discussed the latest developments in the COVID-19 pandemic and developments in the region.
