Iran's exports increasing by cooperation with Eurasia

Ardakanian said that during about 18 months of the temporary performance of Eurasia economic agreement, there was about 40% increase in Iran's exports.

NOURNEWS -  Iranian Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian said that his country's exports have increased by 40% after implementation of an agreement to increase cooperation with the Eurasian states.

Ardakanian said on Friday that during this trip to Russia, a meeting was held with the secretary general of the Eurasian Economic Union in which the union's minister of trade was also present.

He continued that there were detailed negotiations on the permanence of agreement between Iran and the union.

Ardakanian said that during about 18 months of the temporary performance of Eurasia economic agreement, there was about 40% increase in Iran's exports.

Also, imports from EU member states decreased 13% in the same period.

In relevant remarks in February, Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri termed multilateral agreements with the Eurasian states as one of the best options for Iran to increase the volume of its exports.

"One of the most important capacities of the country is the discussion of multilateral agreements such as Eurasia, ECO, D8, etc. which should be used to increase exports," Jahangiri said.

He stressed the use of the good capacity created by the agreement of Eurasian countries to increase foreign trade.
