We are rapidly developing nuclear technology and industry

An exclusive interview with a spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization:

We are rapidly developing nuclear technology and industry

Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran: Nuclear power is very important for Iran's development and is the driving force behind the development of the country's industries.

NOURNEWS - Kamalvandi in response to the question of what new achievements will be unveiled on the National Day for Nuclear Technology this year, said: "In this regard, tomorrow with the presence of the President we will open an exhibition in which more than 133 items were unveiled." We will have new products and developments in the country's nuclear industry.

We have an increase of about 18 percent in this area compared to last year, but we have made more progress in terms of quality, especially in the areas of enrichment and nuclear medicine, and other different areas in the field of nuclear industry.

The spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization, in response to the question, said that due to the ongoing new round of talks under the Joint Commission of the IAEA with the presence of the P4 + 1 representatives, as we know, the mechanism of the US return to the JCPOA obligations was to be discussed in these meetings. Accordingly, why was it necessary for the representatives of the Atomic Energy Organization to be present in Vienna, and would not this presence be an obstacle to the implementation of the parliamentary law? He said: This is what is happening in the conversation I had with Mr. Gharibabadi and Mr. Araghchi. In this meeting, the demands of the Islamic Republic are being raised and the positions of the Islamic Republic are clear and certain.

Iran will not act until the sanctions are lifted and verified, and we will have no confidence in the other side. The list of demands and about 1600 sanctions have been raised by Iran, as well as the demands that were in JCPOA but were not implemented in practice, all of which have now been raised by Iran, and no action will be taken by Iran until these issues are resolved.

The technical committee is not active at the meeting at the moment, and Iran is raising its own issues, and now the sanctions committee is discussing.

Regarding adherence to parliamentary law, I must say that on the nuclear issue, the organization is fully implementing the law.

The organization is fully committed to the law of the parliament and we have a good interaction with the members of the parliament. Iran is moving fast in the nuclear industry, and in this regard, time is in the interest of the Islamic Republic. In this regard, if there is no progress in the negotiations, we are technically making progress.

In fact, the technical committee enters into a discussion after the fate of the sanctions is determined, and the decision on all issues goes back to the outcome of the sanctions talks.

Regarding the concern that the Americans may again violate their obligations, Kamalvandi said: "In this regard, Iran has clearly stated its position. At various levels of the country, it is believed that sanctions should be lifted.

Now the situation is such that no matter how much the Western side delays, this delay is in Iran's interest and to their detriment. The number of our centrifuges and the amount of enriched material is increasing rapidly. We are not losers in this delay. And the delay will do more harm to the West.

Regarding the actions taken by the Atomic Energy Organization under the law of the parliament so far, Kamalvandi added: the law of the parliament must move in six stations and at different times. The first station we had to act on immediately, and it was about 20% production, which was done immediately at the same time. And by the end of the year, this amount should have reached 120 kg, which we currently have about 60 kg. In fact, we have gone half of it in one year and three months.

The second station was a one-month period related to the construction of a new heavy water reactor, the plan of which we presented to the parliament according to the schedule. The third station was a two-month period in which the extra-protocol measures had to be stopped if the sanctions were not lifted, which happened, and in agreement with the Agency, we reached the desired result for three months. The fourth stop was 3 months when we had to install a thousand ir2m cars, which was done, and a number of ir6 cars, which was done.

The fifth station is a five-month period in which we had to set up a metal uranium plant, which has started, and there is another month and a half left from the time we will set it up on a certain date. The next station is the time of year, according to which we have to install 1000 ir6 centrifuges, which can be done according to the plan, and we have to increase the capacity to 500 kg per month, which will be achieved by the end of the year.

If I want to conclude in one sentence, I must say that the law of the parliament is being fully implemented.

Asked about the outcome of the Vienna summit, Kamalvandi said: "It is too early to comment on this and finally the position of the Islamic Republic is clear and nothing will happen until all sanctions are lifted." And because negotiations are not direct, this process is a bit time-consuming.

Regarding the advantages and importance of nuclear technology for Iran, the IAEA spokesman added: "The important point is that the international media and some domestic media have focused more on the issue of enrichment, and this has led to neglect of other aspects of the nuclear industry.

However, enrichment itself is also indirectly related to people's lives. When it enters the research reactor as fuel and produces radio medicine, and when it is converted into power plant fuel and electricity. Finally, they are the people who benefit from it.

Also in the field of nuclear medicine, the nuclear industry has made great strides. A number of these items will be unveiled at tomorrow's exhibition. For example, we will have a children's nuclear medicine center that we have not had before, or a radiation emergency in Arak and the unveiling of a blood centrifuge or a neonatal screening kit that will help diagnose children's diseases tomorrow.

Also tomorrow we have the unveiling of 5 new radiopharmaceuticals in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer that have a direct impact on people's lives.

We should not forget that in the world and in the international arena, power plays the leading role and a country that has the power of the nuclear industry will have a high bargaining power, and this industry is a kind of authoritarian.

The spokesman of the organization continued and expressed the importance of the new reactor in Arak: "The cold test of the new reactor in Arak will be done in the next three months. In this direction, European countries promised and did not help us, but we were able to act without the help of other countries. For the first time, we made many necessary arrangements. Also in the discussion of centrifuges, we have about 15 types of machines, and this variety helps a lot in our capacity building, and we have made a lot of progress in this area.

In the end, Kamalvandi said that the nuclear industry has an important role in all areas and the growth and development of the nuclear industry in fact leads to the growth and development of other industries. Is. Iran's nuclear industry has become completely indigenous and we have made a lot of progress compared to previous years.
