Saudi woman activist sentenced on Bin Salman's request

Wall Street Journal wrote: "The extent of the punishment of Saudi women rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul was at the request of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

NOURNEWS - The Riyadh Criminal Court issued a decree sentencing Saudi women activist Loujain al-Hathloul to five years and eight months in prison.

The Wall Street Journal wrote in its issue today: "The extent of the punishment of Saudi women's rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul was at the request of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Saudi king's advisers revealed that bin Salman was trying to reduce U.S. pressure on Riyadh, so although a five-year and eight-month prison sentence was issued for Ms. al-Hathloul, the court suspended his sentence by two years and 10 months, announcing the beginning of his imprisonment period in May 2018, with only three months left on his prison sentence.
