NOURNEWS - The list of 25 entrepreneurs who met with Chinese President Xi Jinping last week has been revealed, showing Beijing emphasizing technology self-sufficiency to compete with the United States.
Among them was Joe Zishue, director of the International Chip-Making Organization (SMIC), a company that China hopes will reduce its need to import chips, especially from the United States.
Given the tensions between Washington and Beijing and the efforts of foreign companies to reduce their dependence on China's strategic product lines, Xi urged his country's entrepreneurs to meet their targets to meet China's needs.
"Patriotism is the shining tradition of our country's leading entrepreneurs in the contemporary era," he stressed. "Marketing knows no borders, but entrepreneurs have a homeland."
