NOURNEWS - Admiral Ali Shamkhani, representative of the supreme leader and secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, who has traveled to Armenia for a one-day official visit; This morning, they met with Armen Grigorian, the secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia, and discussed issues of interest to the two countries.
In this meeting, Admiral Shamkhani, referring to the deep and long-standing historical, cultural and civilizational ties between the two nations, said; These conditions have provided a suitable platform for strengthening and expanding comprehensive relations between the two countries.
The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country, stating that the two nations of Iran and Armenia have been together throughout history and in difficult regional and international conditions and natural disasters, clarified: "With such a background, no restrictions should be placed on the development of relations between them.”
He stated that: “The volume of economic exchanges between Iran and Armenia is not proportional to the capacities that can be exchanged between the two countries; He emphasized the need to activate these capacities.”
Shamkhani also stated: “The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready as before; use its capacities and facilities to establish lasting peace in the South Caucasus region.”
In this meeting, Armen Grigoryan, the secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia, also expressed his satisfaction with Admiral Shamkhani's visit to Armenia and emphasized the strengthening and development of relations between the two countries at all levels.
He mentioned the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries as one of the actions that should be prioritized for bilateral cooperation.
Referring to the long-standing relations between the two countries, Armen Grigoryan said: “There are great capacities for the development of economic and security relations between the two countries, which require additional efforts to activate them.”
He added: "Electricity transmission projects between the two countries and gas swap between Turkmenistan and Armenia are important issues in the relations between the two countries."
The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Armenia stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran plays an important role in the development of relations between the countries of the South Caucasus and ensuring the security of the region."
While praising the active role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in creating peace and stability in the region, he considered the continuation of our country's role in this direction as necessary and strengthening stable security in the region.
