Iran HR Council censures illegal trial of diplomat Assadollah Assadi

The human rights secretary has called on the Belgian and German governments to be accountable for the case.
NOURNEWS – Secretary of Iran’s High Council for Human Rights Kazem Gharibabadi has criticized the arrest of an Iranian diplomat – Assadollah Assadi, taken hostage in Belgium – and described his trial as illegal. Gharibabadi made the criticism through a letter to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. The human rights secretary has also called on the Belgian and German governments to be accountable for the case. In the letter, Gharibabadi has expressed deep concern over the blatant violation of Assadi’s rights by the two governments. Gharibabadi has called for the investigation into the arrest and illegal trial of Assadi and his human rights abuses by Germany and Belgium.
