Dimensions and messages of the 2022 Maritime Security Belt Combined Exercise

Achieving economic and political goals depends on ensuring comprehensive and sustainable security, and this security convergence is essential at a time when the threat of terrorism and the crisis of the West continues to threaten world security.

NOURNEWS - The 2022 Maritime Security Belt Combined Exercise began Friday in the North Indian Ocean with the participation of surface and flight units of the Chinese and Russian navies and corps and navies to demonstrate new dimensions of regional military convergence.

But what is the significance of this exercise and what messages can it hold?

Today, the capabilities and capacities of Iran's navy are considered not only as a regional power but also on a global scale, paving the way for the country to institutionalize indigenous maritime knowledge despite sanctions and maximum pressures, along with repairing and rebuilding its navy, achieving a manufacturer of giant destroyers capable of operational operation in international oceans and waterways.

The role of the Iranian navy in regional security is undeniable, and the seizure of British ships due to environmental pollution and the prevention of US tanker theft are examples of this.

The point is that; Iran's presence in these exercises, unlike the naval exercises in the southern Gulf countries, which are accompanied by leased weapons, is accompanied by indigenous weapons and navy, including the Prophet 17 exercise and the recent trilateral exercises of Iran, China and Russia.

This power is such that even the enemies of Iran have acknowledged the indigenous power of the Iranian navy along with the land, air, and defense forces and have stated that any action against our country is equal to the war that determines the fate of Iran.

On the other hand; This exercise can be considered as a complementary link in economic and political relations, which reached a high level during the visit of Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian to China and the visit of Ayatollah Raisi to Russia.

Achieving economic and political goals depends on ensuring comprehensive and sustainable security, and this security convergence is essential at a time when the threat of terrorism and the crisis of the West continues to threaten world security.

The truth is that maritime trade is still the main way of international trade, so security convergence in the maritime field is necessary to combat piracy and maritime terrorism, so it can be said that this exercise is not only military but also part of the goals and economic agreements of the three countries and even In a broader dimension, it is in the form of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and so on.

This exercise can be seen as another sign of a change in the structure of the international system that could bring new dimensions to the end of American unilateralism in international security.

By claiming superior naval power, the United States has practically become a threat to the security of other parts of the world. Accordingly, the joint exercise of Iran, Russia, and China as emerging powers against US unilateralism can be considered a new trend in international security that can pave the way for sustainable security in transportation and maritime trade.

Iran's role in this new naval order becomes even clearer when even Trump did not dare to take any action against Iranian oil tankers when sending fuel shipments from Iran to Venezuela, and the world acknowledged that Iran's naval capability forced the United States to remain silent and retreat.

Finally; This tripartite exercise is a clear message that sanctions will be ineffective and the policy of maximum pressure will fail, and it sends a message to those present at the Vienna summit that the West cannot make false claims such as the end of negotiations or the military option, etc, to force Iran to accept its extravagances.

The West has no choice but to accept the truth, that is, the lifting of all sanctions and its verification by Iran and the guarantee to the Islamic Republic that its obligations will not be repeated, because in the field of oil and energy, as Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, said: “ The trade of Iranian oil and its financial affairs has reached appropriate and irreversible conditions.”

The West must come to the conclusion that the era of unilateralism is over and today a new order is underway, of which the Islamic Republic is an integral part, and the Iran-China-Russia tripartite exercise is a small demonstration of this new order in the regional and international arena.
