NOURNEWS - Admiral Ali Shamkhani in a meeting with Iranian ambassadors and heads of missions in neighboring countries on Monday evening, referring to the global situation and its effects on the strategic position of the West Asian region on the need to adopt strategies that lead to convergence and synergy of countries in the region, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Explaining the policies of the Islamic Republic in this situation and considering the establishment of the new government, Shamkhani said: "Resolving any tensions and even misunderstandings, development and strengthening of comprehensive cooperation, especially in the fields of economy, defense-security and strategic partnership are important foreign policy priorities of our country to its neighbors."
Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, the policy of giving priority to neighbors should become quantitative indicators and be continuously measured in the form of evaluating the performance of officials of the Islamic Republic's missions in neighboring countries and the governors of border provinces.
Shamkhani mentioned the role of Iranian ambassadors and heads of missions in neighboring countries in advancing our country's policies is very important and vital, and stressed the need to use all available capacities to implement these policies.
Referring to the decline of the American hegemonic power and the increasing development of emerging powers, the Secretary of our Supreme National Security Council said: "These conditions have led to fundamental changes and the creation of new tensions and rivalries and a major international rivalry with the United States."
He added that the US withdrawal from the region due to the failure of its policies in Iraq, Afghanistan and West Asia and the priority of confronting China as a geoeconomic threat and Russia as a geopolitical threat has been adopted by the US based on these conditions.
Shamkhani said: "The arrival of new factors and components and the mutation of old components have also exposed the geopolitical structure of the region to important and fundamental changes and has changed the security arrangements in West Asia compared to the previous period."
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran mentioned the escalation of the confrontation between Iran and the Zionist regime, the transfer of the Zionist regime from the European US command of Eurocom to the US regional command in Centcom, the normalization of relations between some Arab countries and the Zionist regime as dangerous signs of this change.
He also cited the defeat of the Arab League in the Yemeni war, the serious determination of the Lebanese Hezbollah to maintain the deterrence equation and the emergence of Gaza as an important power against the Zionist regime as other examples of these developments.
Shamkhani, stating that one of the most important developments of this period was the failure of the strategy of maximum pressure from the United States and its allies against the Islamic Republic of Iran, said: "Today, all major players in the region and the world acknowledge that with the unparalleled stability of the Iranian nation, not only has US maximum pressure failed, but Iran and the Resistance Front have been able to overcome one of the most important insecurity factors in the region, ISIS and the US-organized terrorist hub, and to disintegrate them."
He pointed out that even with the assassination of Sardar Soleimani, the United States could not realize its strategy of dismantling the regional resistance.
The representative of the Supreme Leader in the Supreme National Security Council stated: "The combination of these conditions and the strong slap that Iran inflicted on the United States in the face of Assad, while proving the legitimacy of Iran's regional policies on everyone, has provided the ground for reducing US presence and withdrawal from the region."
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country, pointing out that one of the main strategies of the Zionist regime in Iran is fear and creating tension in Iran's relations with its neighbors, stated: "That is why we consider any presence of this regime in the Persian Gulf region as a source of crisis and tension and to the detriment of the interests of the countries and nations of the region."
