NOURNEWS - Qasim Mohammad Jalal al-Araji, Iraqi National Security Advisor, who has traveled to Tehran at the official invitation of Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Representative of the Supreme Leader and Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, met with his Iranian counterpart this afternoon to discuss bilaterally, regionally and internationally.
Explaining the causes of instability in the region, Admiral Shamkhani called the United States the biggest cause of insecurity and organized terrorism and stressed: "Accelerating the implementation of the Iraqi parliament's law on the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq will strengthen and stabilize stabilization processes."
He stated that the assassination of the resistance commanders, the martyrs "Qassem Soleimani" and "Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandes" clearly revealed and proved the role of the United States in strengthening Takfiri terrorism. We expect more from the Iraqi government in this regard, given the hosting of Martyr Qassem Soleimani.
Expressing concern over the reactivation of elements affiliated with the ISIS terrorist group in Iraq, Admiral Shamkhani added: "There is credible information that the Americans, by supporting ISIS forces and moving them to different parts of the country, are trying to create insecurity for their continued presence in Iraq."
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country, referring to the anti-security movements of counter-revolutionary and terrorist elements in the region and northern Iraq, stressed the need for more Tehran-Baghdad cooperation to end the evil of these groups.
He also stressed the need to tackle organized crime, including large arms and drug trafficking networks that target the security of the two countries.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country mentioned the creation of new security structures among the countries of the region with the aim of combating common security threats as a suitable way to establish stability and security in the region and announced our country's readiness to form such structures.
Qasim Mohammad Jalal al-Araji, Iraq's national security adviser, also praised Iran's strategic and privileged role in establishing stability and security in the region and the fight against terrorism, and stressed the need to continue and expand comprehensive cooperation between Iran and Iraq.
Explaining the steps taken by the Iraqi Prime Minister to deal with terrorist groups in northern Iraq, he said: "The necessary coordination has begun with the Kurdistan Regional Government to implement the decisions taken to deal with terrorist groups in northern Iraq."
Al-Araji noted that the division of terrorist groups into good and bad and the application of double standards in the fight against terrorism will definitely have no result other than strengthening the criminal role of terrorist movements.
He called on the Iraqi government to implement the parliament's law on the withdrawal of foreign troops, adding that "executive measures are being taken in coordination with the countries whose troops are in Iraq to achieve the agreed timetable."
The Iraqi National Security Adviser described the Iranian people's instructive resistance to economic sanctions as a sign of the Islamic Republic's political authority and social power, adding: "Iran's continuous progress in various dimensions in the face of unprecedented economic sanctions makes the true lovers of the Iranian people proud."
