NOURNEWS - Lebanese Foreign Minister Nassif Hitti officially submitted his resignation today to Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab.
Contrary to claims by some political groups close to the opposition that the interferences of former Foreign Minister Gibran Basil and the son-in-law of current President Michel Aoun has led to his resignation, information received by NOURNEWS from behind the scenes is another story.
According to this information; Nassif Hitti, who is known for his foreign leanings, especially to Paris, resented the prime minister's determination against French foreign minister and resigned after his French counterpart's rudeness against Lebanon during his recent visit to Beirut.
During the French Foreign Minister's recent visit to Lebanon, Hassan Diab became so angry at the French Foreign Minister's humiliating treatment and insult to the resistance that he told him: "We do not take orders from anyone in Lebanon. I am not Saad al-Hariri to do whatever comes from outside."
according to this; The Americans, under the pretext of Hizbollah's involvement in the Lebanese political process, put the country under economic pressure, and have targeted the pro-Western ministers in Hassan Diab's cabinet in a deliberate plan to ultimately blame the resistance for the Lebanese situation.
