Syria's ruling party and its allies won 177 seats in the country's parliament, winning the final parliamentary elections.

NOURNEWS - The results announced by the Syrian Election Commission show that the ruling Ba'ath party and its allies were able to win a majority of seats in the Syrian parliamentary elections.
The party of ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his allies won 177 of the 250 seats in Sunday's (July 19th) elections; This is the third election in nine years since the start of the devastating war.
This period of Syrian parliamentary elections took place while the country is struggling with the most difficult economic challenges, despite the re-occupation of the occupied territories during the civil war.
The election set up more than 7,000 polling stations in areas under the rule of the legitimate Syrian government, some of which were previously occupied by Syrian opposition groups.
