NOURNEWS - The President of Iran officially welcomed the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, at the Iran International Conference Hall.
A private meeting between the President of Iran and the Prime Minister of Iraq in Tehran is in process.
Simultaneously together with President Rouhani's private talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, ministers and members of the two governments are also meeting separately.
President Rouhani in a joint press conference with Al-Kazemi mentioned:
"Iran promises to be by the side of the Iraqi people with all its power and possibilities in terms of all health and medicine items. The government intends to increase trade relations between the two countries to $ 20 billion."
Iraqi Prime Minister in this joint press conference also mentioned:
"The purpose of the trip to Iran is to strengthen bilateral relations in the shadow of various challenges. Iran-Iraq relations are not only due to the geographical location of the two countries, but also have historical roots."
