Trump Lacks Benevolence for Iran

The professor of international relations at New York's Seton Hall University called Trump a liar and unkind to the Iranian people and stressed: "Trump is using Corona's pandemic in line with his policies against Iran."

NOURNEWS - Martin Edwards is a professor of international relations at New York's Seton Hall University. He expressed his views on the tensions between Iran and the United States.

Martin Edwards initially criticized US' withdrawal from JCPOA and stated: The United States withdrew from JCPOA and has put a lot of pressure on Iran by withdrawing from it, and sanctions for Iran remain, even Coronavirus outbreak has not deterred Trump from doing so.

He added: "Trump believes that JCPOA is a bad agreement and that Iran is a terrible country and has enmity with Iran in its principles, so US will not abandon this enmity. It is not easy to resolve relations between Iran and the United States."

Trump lacks benevolence for Iran

The Professor continued: "Trump lacks benevolence for Iran and has no good intentions for the country. All the words he says are wrong and these untrue and false gestures are to attract the attention and distraction of public opinion and they believe completely contrary to his words."

Trump is using Coronavirus' pandemic in line with his policies against Iran

Referring to the Corona pandemic in Iran, the university professor implied: "Trump does not care about the Iranian people and has used the pandemic as a tool to put more pressure on his policies against Iran. Even given the inefficiency of management in handling the Coronavirus by the Trump's administration, so he continues in pursuing pressure on Iran to divert public opinion from its inefficient management."

With Trump in charge there is no prospect of improving US-Iranian relations

He also spoke about the possibility of improving relations between the two governments and cooperation between them: "There is currently no prospect of improving relations with Trump. Trump has no intention of improving relations with Iran.

If Biden comes to power, there is a possibility that relations between Iran and the United States will improve

He continued: "There is a possibility that relations will improve in the future, but it all depends on the possibility of a change government in the United States. If the government in the United States changes and Joe Biden comes to power, there is a possibility that relations between the two countries will change and improve."
