Ongoing Violent Protests in the US against "Systematic Racism"

Some analysts believe that US police officers have killed more than a thousand people each year and most of the victims are African-American, and it is a sign of inherent violence and structural racism in the United States.

NOURNEWS - Violent protests against the brutal murder of "George Floyd", an unarmed black man by the hand of police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, have become more widespread & viral, covering at least 16 states.

Protests are currently taking place in at least 30 US cities, including Washington, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Atlanta.

This Protests is the most violent protest in the US ever since President Trump's inauguration, and have spread to some European cities, challenging "systematic racism" in the West.

The protests continued in Los Angeles, police officers have arrested hundreds of people and at least 20 police cars were set on fire in New York, police also used tear gas and plastic bullets in some cities to control the situation and disperse protesters.

On Saturday evening, protesters marched in the streets of Minneapolis, New York, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia and other cities, chanting "Black lives matter" and "I can't breathe" (Floyd's last sentence before his death).

According to news sources, police officer Derek Chauvin who killed George Floyd, is due to appear in court tomorrow, but protesters demanded the arrest of three other police officers involved in the incident.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump described the protesters as "looters, rioters and left-wing radicals" and accused them of disrespecting George Floyd, saying that justice in the United States would never be achieved through violence.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz also accused protesters on Saturday of "rioting" and destroying people's lives & property, and causing chaos as they see fit.

At the same time, the US Department of Defense announced that it is preparing military units in Minnesota to take action if necessary.
