What is the Purpose of Trump's Restriction on Social Media Platforms?

US President Donald Trump will issue an executive order restricting social media activity.

NOURNEWS- President Donald Trump tweeted on Tuesday that voting by mail-in ballots in the upcoming US election would lead to widespread "fraud" and that "mailboxes may be stolen."

After the publication of Trump's posts, Twitter posted a real-time post-test tag, linking users to various news media posts about voting by mail-in ballots if they wished.

"Get the facts about mail-in ballots" was the title Twitter chose for the Truth and Test label.

But the move was not to the liking of the US president, who is interested in the media not only publishing his remarks without any criticism, and while sharply criticizing Twitter, he accused the social network of interfering in the US elections.

For more explanation Trump tweeted: "Twitter is now interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election. They are saying my statement on Mail-In Ballots, which will lead to massive corruption and fraud, is incorrect, based on fact-checking by Fake News CNN and the Amazon Washington Post."

Trump's clash with Twitter did not stop with media criticism, and on May 27th, he wrote another tweet: "Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices, we will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen."

Following Trump's threat on Wednesday, White House officials told reporters that the president would issue an executive order today (Thursday) on social media companies, but did not elaborate.

Given Trump's threat yesterday, his executive order is expected to be implemented with the approach of deliberately restricting and controlling social media ahead of the US presidential election in November this year.
