Suhail Shaheen, a spokesman for the Taliban's political bureau in Qatar, rejected a request from Afghan government officials to extend the ceasefire.

NOURNEWS- Suhail Shaheen, a spokesman for the Taliban's political bureau in Qatar, rejected a request from Afghan government officials to extend the ceasefire, saying the issue of a permanent ceasefire was a matter for future Afghan talks and that a three-day ceasefire had been declared on Eid al-Fitr.

At the same time, the Taliban stated: "People's respond to the cease-fire shows that the they are annoyed by wars imposed by the occupation and that the ceasefire is considered their spoils for a few moments."
